[Everything going on in this house was just plain exhausting lately. She had a new daughter, still had a horrible husband...well, that was it, but it was enough to completely take away her strength. Nothing a nice cleansing walk couldn't fix. Too bad this snow was extra bad today...she'd be soaked through by the time she made it home.

But for now, she was just enjoying the deep snow...she even started skipping a little and letting herself relax. She did like playing in the snow as a child...even if she had grown to dislike it over time.

...but, she wasn't really paying attention to where she was going...]

[well, that wasn't such a good idea in the end. Now she was wet and cold and needed something warm. I guess it was time to take a trip to the store. Anything to keep her away from the house for a while.]

Hmm...now, should I get more tea...coffee? Or perhaps this 'hot chocolate'...?

[With her shopping done, she really didn't have a reason to stay away from the house. Especially in these wet clothes.

So after changing, she stood in the bathroom brushing her damp hair to make it easier to dry.]

It seems strangely quiet today...which is exceedingly wonderful...[talking to herself in the mirror]

A king is still human. Simply because you took the seat of a sovereign does not mean that you have to give up your personal rights and fancies. It is unnatural and whoever asked that of you is perverse.

For my country to accept me as king. I am a woman, and it would have been impossible for me to rule my kingdom if I did not make such a sacrifice.

Did it ever occur to you that you could have fought for it? My senate would have wanted for me to be a man, and as far as they were concerned, I was, but I never. Never gave up my right as a woman nor did I have to hide my sex in order to be an efficient ruler.

My country was in the midst of civil war, and barbarians were burning down our villages! There was no time for such selfishness!

Was that not an opportunity? You could have taken charge, settle the unrest, you would have brought about change as a hero and no one would have doubted your abilities when you claimed your throne!

It was not that kind of world. The fall of Rome left devastation and chaos throughout all lands, and even if I claimed the Sword of Kings, they would hardly trust a fifteen-year-old girl with a kingdom.

I was merely a year older than you when I took the imperial throne, and I am no stranger to politics. Age is nothing in the face of talent and they would have accepted you had you showed them yours.

[Upon hearing the other Saber say that, a flicker of pain flashed through her expression. Reminded of her own mother and her devious manipulations. When she spoke again, her tone was bitter.]

My apologies, I did not mean to raise my voice or be so rude. All of that is in the past. I thank you for your assistance, and I do hope we can get to know each other better in the future.

...you are not fully to blame, but you are correct; the past is the past, no matter how we argue, there is nothing either of us can do to change it and I hope that this disagreement would not hinder our potential relationship in the future.
