If there is truly no way to escape him, even dying, then I am at a loss. All of my previous abilities are gone, and should I try to fight him I would certainly loose.

Depending on what price you're forced to pay, that may put you at a greater disadvantage. [It's why she still doesn't have her ring. She's afraid of the price she might have to pay, and without Arika here, it wouldn't serve a purpose.
